Read below how to descale your Tassimo Charmy T55

Step 1/23

Remove the water tank from the back of the machine.

Step 2/23

Remove the orange Service T DISC from the compartment at the back of the machine.

Step 3/23

Fill the water tank up to the descaling mark (500ml) and add the descaling agent according to the manufacturer’s instructions. To find out more about descaling solution click here. Ensure that the descale agent is fully dissolved in the water before continuing.

Replace the water tank by tilting it slightly and returning it to its original position until it clicks into place.

Step 5/23

Open the brewing unit by lifting the handle and pushing up. Place the Service T DISC on the T DISC holder with the barcode facing down. Close the brewing unit by first bringing it down and then push the handle firmly to the machine until you hear an audible click.

Place a suitable container (min. 500ml/ 17oz.) under the drink outlet.

Press and hold the Start/Stop button for at least 5 seconds to start the coffee machine descaling program.

Step 8/23

The descaling program now starts and the ‘Descale and Status’ lights flash. The descaling process takes around 20 minutes while the solution is pumped through the system at intervals, and then runs into the container until the water tank is almost empty. A little liquid is always left in the tank. Note: If the process takes less than 20 minutes, you may have run a cleaning cycle by mistake – the coffee machine will not be fully descaled and the red descale icon will remain illuminated. If this occurs go back to step 6.

The Status light comes on after 20 minutes to indicate that the first stage of the process is complete.

Empty the container of used descale solution and place back under the drink outlet of the machine.

Remove the water tank from the back of the coffee machine.

Step 12/23

Rinse the water tank thoroughly to remove traces of descale solution.

Step 13/23

Refill the water tank with cool fresh water, up to the MAX mark.

Step 14/23

Replace the water tank by tilting it slightly and returning it to its original position until it clicks into place. Open and close the brewing unit, leaving the Service T DISC in the T DISC holder.

Step 15/23

Replace the empty container beneath the drink outlet.

Step 16/23

Press the Start/Stop button briefly to run the cleaning cycle.

Step 17/23

During the cleaning cycle, the orange Status light will flash and the coffee machine dispenses hot water into the container.

Step 18/23

When the cleaning process is complete, empty the container and return it under the outlet. Complete steps 15 to 18 four times to ensure all the descale solution is flushed from the machine.

Step 19/23

Open the brewing unit and remove the Service T DISC.

Step 20/23

Replace the Service T DISC into the storage compartment at the back of the machine.

Step 21/23

Refill the water tank with cool fresh water, up to the MAX mark.

Step 22/23

Replace the water tank by tilting it slightly and returning it to its original position until it clicks into place.

Your TASSIMO has now been descaled and is ready for use again
